Car
If you are driving, start from the center of San Luis Obispo. Head northwest on Higuera St toward Morro St. Turn left onto US-101 N and follow it for about 2 miles. Take exit 203B for CA-1 S toward Morro Bay. After about 6 miles, take the exit toward the Pismo Beach/San Luis Obispo exit. Merge onto CA-1 S and continue for about 9 miles. Take the exit toward Cave Landing Rd. Turn right onto Cave Landing Rd and drive for about 1 mile until you reach Smugglers Cave at 1618 Cave Landing Rd, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.

To reach Smugglers Cave using public transportation, first take the SLO Transit bus number 3 from downtown San Luis Obispo towards the Madonna Inn. Get off at the Madonna Inn stop. From there, you may need to call a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft, as the cave is about 2 miles away from the nearest bus stop. Alternatively, you can walk, but it may take approximately 40 minutes.
