Walking
The Whaley House Museum is located in Old Town San Diego, easily accessible on foot from most points within the Old Town State Park. From the Old Town Transit Center, head east on Taylor Street, then turn left onto San Diego Avenue. The Whaley House will be on your left at 2476 San Diego Ave. The walk is approximately 1/3 of a mile and should take about 5-10 minutes.

The San Diego Trolley's Blue and Green lines stop at the Old Town Transit Center, which is a short walk from the Whaley House Museum. From the transit center, follow the walking directions above. Several bus lines also serve the Old Town Transit Center. A one-way trolley or bus fare is typically $2.50.

Driving
If driving, navigate to Old Town San Diego and follow signs for Old Town State Park. Free parking is available at Old Town State Park, but it can be limited, especially on weekends and during peak season. From the parking area, walk north towards San Diego Avenue. The Whaley House will be on your right. Consider using the CALTRANS parking lot at 4050 Taylor Street on evenings and weekends when parking is difficult; it's about a half-mile walk from there.
