Getting There

Walking
From Yosemite Valley Visitor Center, follow the paved path west towards Yosemite Valley Lodge. Continue along the path as it turns into Northside Drive. El Capitan Meadow will be on your left after approximately 1.5 miles. The walk is relatively flat and easy. Note that during peak hours (6 AM to 2 PM from May 24-26, June 15-August 15, and August 30-September 1), a reservation may be required to enter Yosemite National Park even if walking. The entrance fee for Yosemite National Park is $20 per person, valid for 7 days, but is not required if entering by foot. Alternatively, a Yosemite Annual Pass can be purchased for $70.

Public Transport
Take the free Yosemite Valley Shuttle to the El Capitan Meadow stop (El Capitan Shuttle operates approximately May 25 to October 14). From the shuttle stop, follow the signs to the meadow. The shuttle is free to use within Yosemite Valley.

From Yosemite Valley, head west on Northside Drive. El Capitan Meadow is located along Northside Drive, on the left side of the road. Limited parking pull-outs are available directly adjacent to the meadow. Be aware that parking can be extremely limited, especially during peak season. During peak hours (6 AM to 2 PM from May 24-26, June 15-August 15, and August 30-September 1), a reservation may be required to enter Yosemite National Park. The entrance fee for Yosemite National Park is $35 per vehicle, valid for 7 days. Alternatively, a Yosemite Annual Pass can be purchased for $70.
