Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Preah Vihear and head south towards the main road (National Road 6). Follow the signs towards Siem Reap, which is approximately a 2-hour drive. Once you reach Siem Reap, continue to follow National Road 6 until you see the signs for Wat Damnak. The temple is located on the right side of the road. There is no entry fee for visiting Wat Damnak, but parking may be available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach Wat Damnak using public transportation, take a bus or shared taxi from the main bus station in Preah Vihear heading to Siem Reap. The journey will take about 2 hours. Once in Siem Reap, you can hire a tuk-tuk or a moto taxi to take you directly to Wat Damnak. The tuk-tuk ride should cost around $2-4, depending on your negotiation skills. Make sure to show the driver the name 'Wat Damnak' and mention it is located in Krong Siem Reap to avoid any confusion.
Bicycle Rental
For the more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Siem Reap. After arriving in Siem Reap, head towards Wat Damnak by cycling south along the main road. It’s about a 10 km ride from the town center, which should take around 30-45 minutes. The roads are generally safe, but be cautious of traffic. Bicycle rentals can range from $1-3 per day.
