Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the regional capital, Yaoundé. Head north on the N3 highway towards Bertoua. After approximately 200 km, take the exit towards the D29 road heading to Rhumsiki. Continue on the D29 for about 120 km until you reach Rhumsiki. The last stretch is a bit winding and hilly, but keep following the signs towards Rhumsiki Sunset Viewpoint. Make sure to have a GPS or a map handy, as some road signs may be scarce.
Public Transportation
To reach Rhumsiki by public transportation, take a bus from Yaoundé to Bertoua at the central bus station. The journey takes around 4 to 5 hours and costs approximately 3,000-5,000 CFA. Upon arriving in Bertoua, look for shared taxis or local buses heading to Rhumsiki. This leg of the trip will take around 2 to 3 hours and should cost about 1,500-2,500 CFA. Let the driver know you want to go to the Rhumsiki Sunset Viewpoint, as they will be familiar with the destination.
Hiking/Walking
Once you arrive in Rhumsiki, you may need to hike or walk to reach the Sunset Viewpoint, which is about 5 km from the center of the village. Follow the main path leading towards the hills, and keep an eye out for local guides who can assist you if needed. The hike should take about 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace, and it's recommended to start your trek in the late afternoon to catch the sunset.
