Car
If you are driving, start from the nearest major city in the Forest Region, such as Yaoundé. Head southwest on the N3 highway towards Ebolowa and continue to the town of Kribi. From Kribi, take the D13 road towards the border with Nigeria and follow the signs to Ikom. Once you reach Ikom, follow Ikom - Abanliko Road (HPJX+669) towards Basua. The park entrance is located nearby. Ensure your vehicle has sufficient fuel and supplies.
Public Transportation
To reach Cross River National Park using public transportation, take a bus from Yaoundé to Kribi. Once you arrive in Kribi, look for shared taxis or local buses heading towards Ikom. Inform the driver that you want to go to Basua. The fare should be approximately 5,000 to 10,000 CFA francs. Upon arriving in Basua, ask locals for directions to the park entrance, which is along Ikom - Abanliko Rd. Make sure to have some local currency on hand for small purchases.
Taxi
If you prefer a more comfortable option, hire a taxi from Yaoundé to take you directly to Cross River National Park. This option is more expensive, typically costing around 50,000 to 100,000 CFA francs depending on negotiation. The driver can take you to the park entrance, and you can discuss the return trip with them. Ensure you agree on the fare before starting the journey.
Motorbike Taxi (Okada)
In Ikom, you can also use motorbike taxis (locally known as 'okadas') to reach the park. They are quick and relatively inexpensive, costing around 1,000 to 2,000 CFA francs for a ride to the entrance. Ensure you wear a helmet and negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
