Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from St. John's, take the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1) heading southwest. After approximately 90 kilometers, take exit 35 for Route 100 toward Holyrood/Portugal Cove. Follow Route 100 for about 15 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 10. Take a left onto Route 10 and continue for about 50 kilometers until you reach the town of St. Bride's. From St. Bride's, follow the signs to Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, which is approximately 15 kilometers down the scenic road. There is a parking area at the Reserve.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve using public transportation, start by taking a bus from St. John's to the town of St. Bride's. Check the local bus schedules for the latest routes, as they may change seasonally. Once you arrive in St. Bride's, you may need to arrange a taxi or rideshare to take you the remaining 15 kilometers to the Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, as public transport options may be limited in this area. Be sure to confirm taxi availability in advance.

• Walking

  Once you arrive at the Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, the main attraction is accessible via walking trails. Be prepared for a short hike to the viewing platforms where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the seabirds and the rugged coastline. Wear comfortable walking shoes and consider bringing water and snacks, as there are no facilities within the reserve.
