Car
If you are driving from Quesnel, head east on BC-97 towards Prince George. After approximately 95 km, take the exit toward BC-16 E. Continue on BC-16 E for around 118 km until you reach the junction with BC-5 N. Take BC-5 N for about 150 km, then follow signs for the junction with BC-16 toward Dawson Creek. From here, you will need to take BC-2 N towards Fort St. John. Once you reach the town of Fort St. John, continue on BC-97 N, which will lead you towards the community of Chetwynd. As you approach Chetwynd, you will need to take a detour onto local roads to reach Reindeer Lake. Note that these roads may be unpaved or remote, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for such conditions.
Public Transportation
Start your journey by taking a Greyhound bus from Quesnel to Prince George, which costs approximately CAD 50. From Prince George, transfer to another bus heading to Fort St. John. Upon arrival in Fort St. John, you will need to arrange for a local taxi service, or check if any local shuttle services are available that can take you closer to Reindeer Lake. Be prepared for the possibility of additional costs for the taxi or shuttle, which can vary based on distance and service provider.
Combination of Car and Hiking
If you have access to a vehicle, drive to the nearest town to Reindeer Lake, which is Chetwynd. From Chetwynd, take local roads toward Reindeer Lake. The final approach may require hiking or using an off-road vehicle due to the rugged terrain. Ensure you have a good map or GPS to navigate these trails. It's advisable to check with local guides or visitor centers for the best routes and safety advice before proceeding.
