Getting There

• Car

  From the center of Cariboo, head east on Highway 97 towards Cache Creek. Continue on Highway 97 for approximately 75 kilometers until you reach the junction with Highway 1. Take the exit onto Highway 1 East towards Kamloops. Continue on Highway 1 for about 200 kilometers until you reach the town of Golden. From Golden, follow the signs to Highway 95 South. Take Highway 95 South for approximately 50 kilometers, then turn left onto Highway 1A. Follow Highway 1A until you reach Caddy Lake Tunnel #1 located at Unnamed Road, Whiteshell, MB R0E 2H0. Note that you may need to use local roads or trails to reach the tunnel site directly.

• Public Transportation

  Start from Cariboo's main bus terminal and take a Greyhound or a local bus heading towards Kamloops. Once in Kamloops, transfer to a bus that continues to Golden. In Golden, you will need to arrange a taxi or a rideshare service to take you to Caddy Lake Tunnel #1, as public transport may not be available directly to the site. The taxi fare from Golden to Caddy Lake is approximately CAD 100-150, depending on the distance.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and are in good shape, consider biking from Cariboo to Caddy Lake Tunnel #1. Start by following Highway 97 east towards Cache Creek, then connect to Highway 1. The total distance is about 150 kilometers, so plan for an all-day ride, possibly taking a scenic route through the surrounding areas. Ensure you have proper gear, food, and water for the journey, as well as a detailed map, since bike lanes are limited on highways.
