If you are driving from Williams Lake, head east on BC-20 E for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes until you reach the junction with BC-97 N. Merge onto BC-97 N towards Quesnel. Continue on BC-97 N for about 2 hours, then take the exit onto BC-97 Connector towards Prince George. Follow this road for about 1 hour. Take the exit for BC-97 N again, and continue on this highway until you reach the town of Quesnel. From there, follow the signs for Highway 97 N and continue for another 2 hours. Once you reach the junction with Highway 16, take the exit towards Thompson-Nicola. Continue on this highway until you reach the signs for Shethanei Lake. Be prepared for some rural roads, and make sure to have a map or GPS handy as cellular service may be limited.

For those relying on public transport, start by taking a Greyhound bus from Williams Lake to Quesnel. This journey takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Once in Quesnel, transfer to a local bus service that heads towards the Highway 97 N. This bus might not operate frequently, so check the schedules in advance. From Quesnel, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare to cover the remaining distance to Shethanei Lake, which is approximately 30 km away. Be prepared for additional taxi costs, which can vary based on the service provider.
