Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Sudbury, which is about 90 kilometers away. Take Highway 17 eastbound. After approximately 70 kilometers, take the exit for Killarney. Follow the signs to Killarney Provincial Park. Once you enter the park, continue on the road until you reach the parking area for The Crack trailhead. Note that there is a parking fee for the park, which is approximately $18 per vehicle for day use.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a Greyhound bus from Toronto or Sudbury to Killarney. The nearest bus stop is in Killarney, and from there, you will need to arrange a taxi or rideshare service to reach Killarney Provincial Park. The distance from Killarney town to the park is around 10 kilometers, so a taxi ride can cost approximately $20-$30 CAD. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited.
Hiking
Once you've parked your vehicle or arrived by taxi, prepare for a hike. The Crack is a challenging hike that takes about 2-3 hours to reach the viewpoint. The trail is well-marked but steep, so be sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry water. It’s also advisable to check the weather before heading out as conditions can change rapidly in the area.
