    From the north, take Line 2 Bloor-Danforth subway to High Park Station. Follow Colborne Lodge Drive south through High Park for 1.7 km. Colborne Lodge is on the left. A single TTC fare is $3.30.

    From the south, take the 504B streetcar along the Queensway to Colborne Lodge Drive. Proceed into High Park for 200 m. Colborne Lodge is on the right. A single TTC fare is $3.30.

  • Driving

    From Monday to Friday, visitor vehicles can enter High Park at Parkside Drive and High Park Boulevard. Follow the road to Colborne Lodge Drive. Limited parking is available along the east side of Colborne Lodge Drive. Parking is free. On weekends and holidays, High Park is closed to visitor vehicles.

Colborne Lodge, located in the southern section of High Park, is a charming historic house museum that provides a window into 19th-century Toronto. Built in 1837 by John Howard, a prominent architect and city engineer, and his wife Jemima, the house exemplifies Regency picturesque cottage style. Originally a one-story structure, Howard later expanded the cottage, naming it after Sir John Colborne, the Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada. John and Jemima Howard deeded their 165-acre property to the City of Toronto in 1873, stipulating that it remain a park for the enjoyment of all citizens, hence the creation of High Park. Today, Colborne Lodge stands as a museum showcasing the Howards' original furnishings, artifacts, and John Howard's own watercolor paintings of early Toronto. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing 19th-century innovation, creativity, and the Howards' eccentric lives. The museum also features the 1855 Coach House, which hosts temporary displays.
