Getting There

Car
From downtown Halifax, follow Quinpool Road or Chebucto Road to the Armdale Rotary. Take the exit onto Herring Cove Road. At the lights, proceed left onto Purcells Cove Road. Drive about 8km and look for the Parks Canada Beaver sign on the left. Free parking is available at the main entrance and at the fire road trailhead. Limited parking is available outside the main gates year-round. During the summer, the main parking lot inside the main gates is open from 8 am to 8 pm.

Public Transport
Take Bus 15 towards Purcells Cove from Halifax. Check the Halifax Transit website for schedules. The bus will take you to York Redoubt. Alternatively, take bus #1, #2, or #9A/B from Scotia Square in Downtown Halifax to Mumford, then transfer to bus #415. Ride the #415 until you reach the York Redoubt Turning Loop, where the bus turns around in the York Redoubt parking lot. A single fare is $2.75.
