Getting There

  • Driving

    Green Gables Heritage Place is located within Prince Edward Island National Park and is easily accessible by car. From Charlottetown, it's approximately a 40-kilometer drive. Follow the main roads towards Cavendish. Once in Cavendish, follow signs for Green Gables Heritage Place. Free parking is available in the parking lot. Note that July and August are the busiest months.

  • Public Transport

    During the summer months (June to September), T3 Transit provides bus service to Cavendish from Charlottetown and Summerside. From either city, take the T3 Transit bus to Cavendish. From the Cavendish stop, it's a short walk or taxi ride to Green Gables Heritage Place. A one-way bus fare is approximately $2. All rural transit trips must be booked in advance at Transit PEI.

Each room is named after a character from the novel. Wander through the lush gardens and follow the trails that captivated Montgomery, including the Haunted Wood Trail and Balsam Hollow Trail, which begins as Lover's Lane.Green Gables was initially built in the 1830s by the MacNeil family, relatives of Lucy Maud Montgomery.
