Walking
If you are starting from Old Montreal, head south on Rue Saint-Paul towards the waterfront. Once you reach the end of the street, turn left onto Rue de la Commune. Continue walking along Rue de la Commune until you reach the Old Port Locks. This route is approximately a 15-minute walk and offers beautiful views of the St. Lawrence River.

If you are near a Metro station, take the Green Line towards Angrignon. Get off at the Bonaventure station. From the station, exit onto Rue de la Gauchetière and walk south until you reach Rue Peel. Turn left and continue walking until you reach the waterfront. From there, turn right onto Rue de la Commune, and continue until you reach Old Port Locks. This route takes about 20-25 minutes in total.

If you have access to a bike, you can rent one from a nearby BIXI station. Head towards the Lachine Canal path by following Rue Notre-Dame towards the west. Once you reach the canal, follow the bike path along the water until you reach the Old Port area. The ride is scenic and takes approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace.

From downtown Montreal, you can take the 55 bus from Mont-Royal Metro Station heading west. Get off at the de la Commune stop. From there, walk south towards the waterfront, and you will see the Old Port Locks within a few minutes' walk. The total travel time is around 30-35 minutes, including the bus ride and walking.
