Walking
If you're in the Quartier des Spectacles, you can easily reach Monument-National by walking. Start at the Place des Arts, which is a central hub in the Quartier. Walk south on Rue de Maisonneuve until you reach Boulevard Saint-Laurent. Turn left (east) on Boulevard Saint-Laurent and continue walking for about 5 minutes. Monument-National is located at 1182 St Laurent Blvd, right on the left side of the street.
Public Transit (Metro)
For those who prefer public transit, you can take the Metro. Walk to the nearest Metro station, which is Place-des-Arts on the Green Line (Line 1). Board the train in the direction of Angrignon and travel for one stop to Saint-Laurent station. Exit the train and head north on Boulevard Saint-Laurent for about 10 minutes. Monument-National will be on your left at 1182 St Laurent Blvd. A single fare for the Metro costs approximately CAD 3.50.
Biking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a BIXI bike, which is a bike-sharing service available throughout Montreal. Locate the nearest BIXI station, rent a bike, and head towards Boulevard Saint-Laurent. Pedal south on Saint-Laurent, and it will take you around 5-10 minutes to reach Monument-National at 1182 St Laurent Blvd. Remember to return the bike to a BIXI station near Monument-National. The cost for a single ride is CAD 5 for 30 minutes.
