Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, the Wintering Site National Historic Site of Canada is located at Donjon Blvd, Port Dover, ON N0A 1N7. From the nearest major city, Hamilton, Ontario, take the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) towards Niagara. Merge onto ON-403 W and then take exit 78 for ON-6 S. Follow ON-6 S until you reach ON-3 E. Continue on ON-3 E until you reach Port Dover. Once in Port Dover, navigate to Donjon Blvd where the site is located. There is no entrance fee for the site, but ensure your vehicle has enough fuel for the journey as services can be sparse in rural areas.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Toronto to Port Dover. Greyhound or other regional bus services operate routes to Port Dover. Once you arrive at the Port Dover bus station, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Donjon Blvd, as public transportation is limited within the town. Expect to pay approximately $20-$30 for a taxi from the bus station to the Wintering Site. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as services may be infrequent.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, cycling to the Wintering Site National Historic Site is also an option. If you are in the surrounding areas, you can follow the scenic trails and roads leading to Port Dover.
