Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Ottawa and take the ON-416 N exit toward Kanata. Continue on ON-416 N for about 20 kilometers. Merge onto the ON-417 W (Trans-Canada Highway) and continue for another 15 kilometers. Take the exit toward Carp Road/Carp and turn left onto Carp Road. After approximately 5 kilometers, turn right onto Pinhey's Point Road. Follow Pinhey's Point Road for about 2 kilometers until you reach Pinhey's Point Historic Site at 270 Pinhey's Pt Rd, Dunrobin, ON K0A 1T0. There is no entrance fee for the site, but parking may incur a small cost depending on the time of year.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take OC Transpo bus #96 from downtown Ottawa towards Kanata. After about 40 minutes, get off at the stop at Carp Road/Old Carp Road. From there, you will need to walk approximately 3 kilometers to reach Pinhey's Point Historic Site. Alternatively, you can use a rideshare service from the bus stop to the site for a more convenient option. Be sure to check the current bus schedules and plan your trip accordingly as services may vary.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous and would like to bike to Pinhey's Point Historic Site, it is a scenic ride. Starting from Ottawa, you can take the Ottawa River Pathway west to Cross the Chaudière Bridge, and then follow the pathway along the river. Once you reach Kanata, follow the bike-friendly roads to Carp Road, then take Pinhey's Point Road to the site. The total distance is approximately 35 kilometers, so be prepared for a moderately long ride. Ensure your bicycle is in good working order and check for any local bike rental options if you do not have your own.
