Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from downtown Ottawa. Head south on Elgin Street towards Wellington Street. Continue straight onto Queen Elizabeth Driveway, which will take you along the Rideau Canal. After approximately 1.5 km, turn left onto Somerset Street. Follow Somerset Street for about 500 meters and then turn right onto O'Connor Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Slater Street. Turn left onto Slater Street, then take the first right onto Bank Street. Continue on Bank Street for about 1.5 km, and you will see the Corktown Footbridge on your left, connecting you to the vibrant Corktown area. Parking is available nearby, but may require payment at a meter or parking lot, typically costing around CAD 2-3 per hour.

  To reach the Corktown Footbridge via public transportation, take OC Transpo bus route 1 or 7 from any central location in Ottawa. If you are starting from the Rideau Centre, board the bus at the Rideau terminal. You will need to travel for approximately 15-20 minutes. Get off at the 'Bank Street at Slater' stop. From there, walk south on Bank Street for about 10 minutes until you reach the Corktown Footbridge.   If you are already in the nearby area, walking to the Corktown Footbridge is a delightful option. From the ByWard Market, head south on William Street, then turn left onto George Street. Continue straight until you reach Bank Street. Turn right on Bank Street and walk for about 15 minutes until you see the Corktown Footbridge.
