From ByWard Market, head southwest on Sussex Drive toward George Street. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach Rideau Street. Turn left onto Rideau Street and walk until you reach Elgin Street. Here, turn right. Proceed down Elgin Street for about 600 meters until you reach Wellington Street. The National War Memorial will be straight ahead at the intersection of Elgin Street and Wellington Street. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

From ByWard Market, walk to the nearby Rideau Centre bus terminal (about a 10-minute walk). Once there, take the OC Transpo bus #1 (or #7) towards 'TUNNEY'S PASTURE'. Get off at the 'Parliament' stop. From the bus stop, walk west on Wellington Street for about 5 minutes. The National War Memorial will be on your left. A one-way fare on the bus is approximately CAD 3.75.
