Ottawa Murder Mystery: Self-Guided City Detective Game

A great way to tour lots of sights and solve a mystery

I loved this experience. It was a great walk around the downtown area of Ottawa, near Parliament, the Sparks Street Mall, the Unknown Soldier monument, and the Miner’s monument. I also saw the CBC building and some fun places to eat. I ended up near where I started, which was nice after walking around. The ‘live’ puzzles were cool and simple to do. The mystery was interesting and challenging at the right level, I solved the riddles and got help as needed, so it was entertaining. I took about 2-2 1/2 hours, but I was stopping to check things out so it was a meandering tour for me.

Fun and autonomous discovery

I used the app to discover the city of Ottawa. Since I was travelling solo, it allowed me to have a good time while learning about the history of the city and these monuments. I played the game at my own pace. The only downside is that at times, the indicated route from one monument to another made walking more than necessary.

great idea!

After reading reviews regarding the difficulty getting to the directions for the scavenger hunt I was a little worried about buying this. We did anyways and very glad we did. The company reached out to me after my purchase and advised to either sign up on a link they provided or they could do it for me if i provided my email. I gave them my email and within mins we were good to go. The weather didn't cooperate so sadly we didn't finish. We got more than half way and myself and kids really enjoyed this! Def will look at doing more of these in other cities we visit!
