Getting There

  • Walking

    If you're in the Glebe, head north on Bank Street towards the canal. Once you reach the Rideau Canal, turn right and walk along the path until you reach the intersection with Elgin Street. Turn left onto Elgin Street and continue walking for about 1 kilometer. Central Chambers National Historic Site will be on your right at 40 Elgin St. This walk will take approximately 20-25 minutes.

  • Public Transit

    From Glebe, you can take Bus #7 from the Bank St. & Glebe Ave. stop heading towards the Ottawa station. After about 6 stops (approximately 15 minutes), get off at the Elgin St. & Laurier Ave. stop. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to Central Chambers. Head south on Elgin St. for 2 blocks, and the site will be on your left at 40 Elgin St. The bus fare is $3.75 CAD.
