Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from anywhere in the Parkland Region, take Highway 115 South towards Peterborough. Continue on Highway 115 until you reach the exit for Highway 7 East. Merge onto Highway 7 East and follow the signs for Peterborough. Once you enter the city, take the exit towards Lansdowne Street. After that, turn left onto Lansdowne Street. Continue straight until you reach Hunter Street, then turn right. The Peterborough Lift Lock National Historic Site will be on your left at 220 Hunter Street East, Peterborough, ON K9J 6Z6.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a bus to Peterborough from various locations in the Parkland Region. Check the schedule for your nearest Greyhound or local transit services. Once you arrive at the Peterborough Bus Terminal, you can take the City of Peterborough transit (Route 2 or Route 4) towards the downtown area. Get off at the stop closest to Hunter Street. Walk east along Hunter Street for about 10 minutes, and you will arrive at the Peterborough Lift Lock National Historic Site located at 220 Hunter Street East.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, there are bike-friendly routes leading into Peterborough. From the Parkland Region, plan your route to connect to the Trans Canada Trail or local bike paths. Once you arrive in Peterborough, follow local cycling signage to Hunter Street. The Peterborough Lift Lock National Historic Site is located at 220 Hunter Street East, where you can find bike racks for parking.

  If you are already in the downtown Peterborough area, you can easily walk to the Peterborough Lift Lock National Historic Site. Head towards Hunter Street East.
