Discover more about St Ambroise Provincial Park

St. Ambroise Beach Provincial Park, established in 1961, is a 46-hectare (110-acre) parkland nestled on the southern edge of Lake Manitoba. The park has a rich history of providing recreation and relaxation to Manitobans, drawing visitors with its fine sand beach and calm, shallow waters. The park is a birdwatcher's paradise, especially in late April when migratory birds like warblers, geese, and pelicans flock to the area. Summer brings families who enjoy the natural playground created by the shallow waters and sandbars. Visitors can explore the Sioux Pass Marsh via a walking trail that leads to a viewing tower, offering opportunities to spot various bird species, including American white pelicans and yellow-headed blackbirds. In 2011, the park suffered severe flood damage, but since then, it has been revitalized with renovations, including the reopening of the campground in 2021 under private management as Surfside Beach Campground. Today, visitors can enjoy camping, swimming, sunbathing, hiking, windsurfing, and fishing. The park also offers amenities such as picnic areas, playgrounds, and a tiki bar, making it a well-rounded destination for a day trip or longer stay.
