Car
If you're driving, start from the nearest major city, which is Regina, Saskatchewan. Head south on Highway 6 towards the town of Assiniboia. Once you reach Assiniboia, take Highway 2 south until you reach the intersection with Highway 37. Turn west onto Highway 37 and continue until you reach Big Beaver. Castle Butte is located just outside of Big Beaver. Look for signs directing you to Castle Butte as you approach the area. There is no entry fee for the site.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, take a bus from Regina to Assiniboia. Check with local transit services for schedules and routes. Once in Assiniboia, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Big Beaver and Castle Butte, as public transport does not directly service this area. Be prepared for additional costs for the taxi ride from Assiniboia to Big Beaver, which may vary.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, consider cycling from Assiniboia to Big Beaver. The distance is approximately 30 kilometers along Highway 2. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow safety guidelines for cycling on the highway. Bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are limited services along the way. Once you reach Big Beaver, Castle Butte is a short ride away.
