Car
If you are starting from the center of Aconcagua Valley, head south on Route 7 (Ruta Nacional 7) towards Las Heras. Continue on this route for approximately 100 kilometers. Once you reach Las Heras, you will need to take a left on Route 145 (Ruta Provincial 145). Drive for about 20 kilometers until you see signs for Laguna de Horcones. Follow the signs for another 10 kilometers to reach the parking area near the lagoon. Note that parking may have a fee, so keep some Argentine Pesos (ARS) on hand.
Public Transportation
From Aconcagua Valley, take a bus to Mendoza city. Buses regularly depart from major towns in the valley. Once in Mendoza, transfer to a bus heading to Las Heras (this will take about 1 to 1.5 hours). Upon arrival in Las Heras, you can either take a taxi or a local bus that goes towards Laguna de Horcones. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at the lagoon. The total cost of the bus journey may vary, but expect to pay around 300 ARS for the journey to Las Heras and an additional 150 ARS for the taxi or local bus.
Hiking
If you prefer an adventurous route, you can hike from the nearest access point (usually starting from the entrance of Aconcagua Provincial Park). From the park entrance, follow the marked trails towards Laguna de Horcones. The hike is about 10 kilometers and takes approximately 3-4 hours. Ensure you have appropriate hiking gear and enough water, as this option requires physical stamina. There is no cost to hike, but entrance to Aconcagua Provincial Park may incur a fee (check current rates).
