Car
If you're traveling by car, start in Concepción, the largest city in the Biobío Region. Head south on Route 160, following signs for Hualpén. After approximately 10 kilometers, take the exit towards Hualpén. Continue on Avenida Costanera for about 5 kilometers until you reach Cueva del Pirata, located near the coastline. There is parking available nearby, but be aware that it might be limited during peak tourist seasons.
Public Transportation
To reach Cueva del Pirata by public transport, you can take a bus from Concepción to Hualpén. Look for buses at the Concepción terminal that display 'Hualpén' as their destination. The journey takes approximately 25-30 minutes. Once you arrive at Hualpén, you will need to walk about 1.5 kilometers to the coast where Cueva del Pirata is located. Follow local signage or ask locals for directions to the cave.
Walking
If you are already in Hualpén, you can easily walk to Cueva del Pirata. Start at the Plaza de Hualpén and head towards Avenida Costanera, then walk along the coast until you reach the cave. It’s a scenic walk of about 20 minutes and offers beautiful views of the coastline.
