Driving
The Traful River is accessible via Provincial Route 65, which connects to Route 40 and Route 237. From Bariloche, take Route 237 to the east until the intersection with Route 65. Then follow Route 65 until you reach the Traful River valley. Note that parts of Route 65 are unpaved gravel. Check road conditions before traveling. Car rentals are available in Bariloche and San Martin de los Andes.
Bus
While there is no direct bus service to the Traful River, you can take a bus to Villa La Angostura or San Martin de los Andes and then arrange for a transfer to the river. Several local tour operators offer day trips to the Traful River from these towns. Check with local bus companies for schedules and availability. The cost of a bus from Bariloche to Villa La Angostura is approximately $5-10 USD.
