Car
If you're driving from Puerto Montt, take Route 5 south towards Puerto Varas. Continue on Route 5 until you reach the town of Ensenada. From Ensenada, take Route 225 towards the town of Ancud on Chiloé Island. After crossing the Chacao Channel via the ferry (approximately $10 USD for a vehicle), follow the signs to Ancud. From Ancud, continue on Route 5 towards the southern part of Chiloé until you reach Parque Nacional Chiloé. The park is located about 50 km south of Ancud.
Public Transportation
From Puerto Montt, take a bus to Ancud; the journey takes approximately 3-4 hours and costs around $10-15 USD. Once in Ancud, you can take a local bus towards the southern part of the island. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at Parque Nacional Chiloé, as some buses may not go directly to the park entrance. Check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.
Ferry
If you are coming from mainland Chile, you will need to take the Chacao ferry to Chiloé Island. The ferry operates frequently and costs approximately $10 USD for a vehicle and $2 USD for pedestrians. Make sure to check the ferry schedule as it may vary by season. Once you arrive on Chiloé Island, follow the directions provided for either driving or taking public transport to reach Parque Nacional Chiloé.
