Start at the main square (Plaza de Armas) in San Pedro de Atacama. From the square, head south on Caracoles Street until you reach the intersection with the main road, Calle Toconao. Turn left onto Calle Toconao and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Avenida 7 de Septiembre. Turn right onto Avenida 7 de Septiembre and walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You'll pass by various shops and restaurants. Keep an eye out for signposts directing you towards Cruz Papal. As you walk, you’ll enjoy views of the surrounding desert landscapes. Continue straight until you reach the trailhead that leads to Cruz Papal, which is marked by a small wooden sign. Follow the trail for approximately 500 meters until you reach the observation deck.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in San Pedro de Atacama. A popular place to rent is 'San Pedro Bikes.' Once you have your bike, head towards the main square (Plaza de Armas). From there, take Caracoles Street south until you reach the intersection with Calle Toconao. Turn left onto Calle Toconao and cycle straight until you reach Avenida 7 de Septiembre.
