Getting There

  • Car

    From Flying Fish Cove, drive for approximately 30 minutes towards Dolly Beach. Follow Murray Road and Phosphate Hill Road towards the airport, and then follow the signs. A high clearance vehicle is recommended as the last part of the drive to the Dolly Beach carpark is on a dirt road which can be quite potholed and uneven. Parking is free at the car park. From the car park, it is approximately a 2km return walk to Dolly Beach through the jungle.

    Limited public transport options are available on Christmas Island. A bus runs from Kampong to various points around the island. Check the local bus schedule for routes heading towards the National Park. From the nearest bus stop, it is recommended to either walk or hire a taxi to complete the journey to Dolly Beach. The taxi ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes from the bus stop to the beach. The bus fare is approximately $5.

  • Walking

    From the nearest bus stop, head towards the main road and follow the pathway that leads into the National Park. It's a scenic walk of about 30-40 minutes through beautiful landscapes. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
