Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the city of Leticia, Colombia. Drive towards the main road leading to the border with Brazil. Follow the signs to Tabatinga and cross the border into Brazil. Continue driving on the BR-319 highway towards Manaus. After approximately 40 km, you will reach the town of Humaitá. From there, take the BR-230 highway towards the city of Porto Velho. After around 200 km, take the exit towards the town of Costa Marques. From Costa Marques, follow the signs leading to Cuyabeno Reserve. Be prepared for some unpaved roads and consider using a 4x4 vehicle for better access.

Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, start by taking a bus from Leticia to Tabatinga (approximately 30 minutes). From Tabatinga, find a bus heading to Manaus. This journey could take around 12 hours. Once in Manaus, transfer to a bus heading towards Humaitá, which takes approximately 6 hours. From Humaitá, catch a bus to Costa Marques. After arriving in Costa Marques, negotiate a local taxi to take you to the entrance of Cuyabeno Reserve. Ensure to confirm the fare beforehand, as it can vary.

An adventurous option is to travel by boat. From Leticia, take a boat down the Amazon River to Tabatinga. From Tabatinga, you can then catch a regional boat that heads towards the vicinity of Cuyabeno Reserve. Ensure you check the boat schedules as they can be limited. This journey can take a day or more, depending on the boat service and stops along the way.
