Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the center of Cartagena. Head southeast on Avenida San Martín and continue straight. Merge onto Calle 30, then turn left onto Calle 37. Follow this road until you reach the entrance of the Convent of Santa Cruz de la Popa. There is a parking area available near the convent. Be aware that there may be a small entrance fee to access the site, typically around 10,000 COP.

• Taxi

  Taking a taxi is a convenient option. Simply request the driver to take you to 'Convento de la Popa,' located on Calle 37. The ride from the city center should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Expect to pay around 15,000 to 25,000 COP, depending on your starting point.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  If you prefer public transportation, look for buses heading towards the outskirts of Cartagena. You can catch a bus from the main bus terminal (Terminal de Transporte) or various points in the city. The bus route will typically cost about 2,000 to 3,000 COP. Ask the driver to drop you off at 'La Popa' or near the entrance to the convent. From there, you may need to walk uphill for about 10-15 minutes to reach the convent's entrance.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking and are nearby, you can hike up the hill to the convent. Start from the base of the hill and follow the marked trails. It’s a steep incline, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a 30-45 minute walk. The path is scenic, providing lovely views of the city.
