Car
If you are driving from Salento, head towards the Cocora Valley. You will take the road Vía al Valle del Cocora. Continue on this road for approximately 11 km. You'll pass through scenic landscapes, so take your time to enjoy the views. When you arrive at Finca Los Portones, it will be located on your left. Look for the entrance marked by rustic wooden signs. There is a parking area available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach Finca Los Portones via public transport, start in the main square of Salento. Here, you will find jeeps (also known as 'Willys') that go to the Cocora Valley. The jeep ride costs around 3,000 COP per person and leaves frequently throughout the day. Inform the driver that you want to get off at Finca Los Portones. The journey will take about 30 minutes, and you will be dropped off near the entrance. From there, it is a short walk to the farmstay.
Walking
If you are already in the Cocora Valley and prefer to walk, start from the main trailhead where the jeep drop-off occurs. Follow the main path leading deeper into the valley. After about a 20-minute walk, look for a sign indicating Finca Los Portones on your right. The path may be a bit rugged, so wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for a bit of an uphill trek.
