Car
If you are driving from any location in the Insular Region, you will need to head towards Armenia, Quindío. From there, take the road towards Salento. Once you reach Salento, follow the signs for 'Valle de Cocora'. The valley is approximately 11 kilometers from Salento, and the drive takes about 30 minutes. Keep your eyes peeled for signs indicating the entrance to Cocora Valley. Parking is available, but there may be a small fee, approximately 5,000 COP.
Public Transportation
From Salento, you can take a Willys Jeep (a traditional 4x4 vehicle) to Cocora Valley. The Willys depart from the main square in Salento and run frequently throughout the day. The fare is around 3,000 COP per person one way. The ride takes about 30 minutes, and you will enjoy beautiful scenery along the way. Make sure to check the schedule for the last return trip, as the last Willys usually leave Cocora Valley around 5:30 PM.
Walking
If you prefer a more adventurous approach, you can hike from Salento to Cocora Valley. The hike is about 11 kilometers and will take you approximately 3-4 hours, depending on your pace. Follow the signs from the town towards the valley, and be prepared for some steep sections. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry water and snacks. This option is free, but ensure you start early to avoid returning after dark.
