Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Cartagena, Bolivar. Head north on Avenida San Martin towards Calle 7. Continue on this road and merge onto the Autopista del Caribe/Route 90. Follow the signs for Barranquilla and merge onto Route 90. After approximately 30 km, take the exit for the ferry terminal to Fuerte Island (Isla Fuerte). Parking is available at the terminal, and there may be a small fee for parking. Ensure you check the ferry schedule as they operate at specific times throughout the day.
Public Transportation
To reach Fuerte Island using public transportation, start at the Cartagena Bus Terminal. Take a bus heading towards Barranquilla. Once you arrive at Barranquilla, you will need to take a taxi or local transportation to the ferry terminal for Fuerte Island. Make sure to ask the driver to take you to the 'terminal de ferrys'. The ferry ride will cost approximately $20,000 COP (Colombian Pesos). Confirm the ferry schedule beforehand as services may vary by season.
