Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Quibdó, the capital of Chocó. Head northwest on the Avenida de los Estudiantes (Route 60) for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction to Route 14. Turn onto Route 14 and continue for approximately 90 kilometers. You will pass through the town of Nuquí. Follow the signs toward Bahía Solano. Once in Bahía Solano, follow the local roads towards El Valle. The destination is located at Cabaña La Tortuga Jorobada Playa Almejal, which is near the beach. You may need to ask locals for the exact location as it is a bit off the main road.
Public Transportation
To reach The Humpback Turtle using public transportation, take a bus from Quibdó to Bahía Solano. The bus company 'Cooperativa de Transportes Bahía Solano' offers services, and the journey takes about 6-8 hours. Confirm the schedule in advance as it may vary. Once you arrive in Bahía Solano, you can hire a local taxi or moto-taxi to take you to El Valle. The fare for the taxi should be negotiated before starting the trip, and it typically costs around 15,000 to 30,000 COP depending on your negotiation skills. Ask the driver to take you to Cabaña La Tortuga Jorobada Playa Almejal.
Boat
For a more scenic route, you can also consider taking a boat from Nuquí to Bahía Solano. This option provides stunning views of the Pacific coast. Book a boat ride through local operators in Nuquí, and confirm the schedule as it may depend on the weather. Once you arrive in Bahía Solano, take a local taxi or moto-taxi to El Valle. The taxi fare should be similar to that from the bus station.
