Trekking
The only way to reach Ciudad Perdida is by undertaking a multi-day trek. Treks typically start from Santa Marta or Palomino, with transportation to El Mamey (also known as Machete Pelao), the starting point of the trek. Several authorized tour companies offer guided treks, which are required to visit the site. The 4-day trek is the most common option, costing approximately $2,150,000 COP (around $550 USD) per person, a price fixed across all authorized agencies. This price includes transportation, meals, accommodation (hammocks or beds in camps), guides, entrance fees, and contributions to local communities.
