Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Bucaramanga, take the route toward the town of Gámbita. Head northwest on the Autopista Bucaramanga - Cúcuta (Route 45) and follow signs toward Gámbita. After approximately 60 kilometers, you will reach the town of Gámbita. Upon arriving in Gámbita, follow the signs to Vereda Gambita Viejo, where Cueva el Chocó is located. It is advisable to use a GPS navigation system or a maps application for the most accurate driving directions.

• Public Transportation

  From Bucaramanga, you can take a bus to Gámbita. Buses depart regularly from the Terminal de Transportes de Bucaramanga. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Upon arrival at the Gámbita bus terminal, you can take a local taxi to Vereda Gambita Viejo. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your trip, as it can vary depending on the distance.

• Local Taxi

  Once you arrive in Gámbita, local taxis are available to take you to Cueva el Chocó. The taxi ride from the bus terminal in Gámbita to Vereda Gambita Viejo typically costs around 10,000 to 20,000 COP. It is advisable to negotiate the fare before starting the ride.

• Walking

  If you prefer walking and enjoy nature, from the town of Gámbita, you can walk to Vereda Gambita Viejo, which is approximately 5 kilometers away. The path is scenic, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, as the terrain can be uneven in some areas.
