    Discover more about Boulder Falls

Boulder Falls, often called the "Yosemite of Boulder Canyon" , is a captivating natural attraction located just a short drive from downtown Boulder. The waterfall plunges approximately 70 feet down a rock wall, creating a refreshing and scenic experience for visitors. The short, easy access makes it a popular destination for families and those seeking a quick escape into nature. The falls are part of five acres of mining claims entrusted to the City of Boulder in 1941 by Charles G. Buckingham, a banker who wanted to preserve the falls. Boulder Falls was a popular destination for picnic groups, especially after the narrow-gauge railroad was washed out in the great flood of 1894. The falls regained popularity with the construction of Highway 119. In 2013, another flood damaged the area, but the City of Boulder invested $1.2 million in restoration and improvements. The short trail to the falls is only about 100 yards. Be aware that the area can be busy, especially on weekends and during the summer.
