Discover more about Vail Interfaith Chapel

The Vail Interfaith Chapel, a cornerstone of the Vail community, has been a place of worship, reflection, and gathering for over 50 years. Completed in 1969, the chapel was born from the vision of local leaders who recognized the need for a shared spiritual home in the growing resort town. Vail Associates, the ski company, donated the land along Gore Creek, and a community-wide fundraising effort made the chapel a reality. What makes the Vail Interfaith Chapel unique is its commitment to inclusivity. It is one of the few community chapels in the country where multiple faiths share the same space while maintaining their individual identities. Six congregations currently use the chapel, including Christian and Jewish faiths. This spirit of cooperation and understanding is at the heart of the chapel's mission. The chapel's architecture reflects Vail's alpine ambiance. The interior is simple and elegant, with a focus on natural light and the beauty of the surrounding mountains. Because the view from the altar showcases the mountains, trees, and Gore Creek, stained glass windows were deemed unnecessary. The chapel also hosts community events, support groups, and arts programs, further solidifying its role as a vital center for the Vail Valley.
