Originally designed by Press Maxwell in 1961 with 18 holes, the course was expanded in 1998 by Mark Rathert to include 27 holes. The course gets its name from the Kissing Camels rock formation in the nearby Garden of the Gods park. The course itself is known for its challenging layout, featuring bunkered greens and tree-lined fairways. The course spans over 7,000 yards per 18 holes. Beyond the course, the facility includes a practice range, putting greens, and a pro shop. Golf etiquette is essential, with a dress code requiring collared shirts and Bermuda-length shorts; denim is not permitted. Beyond golf, the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club offers a range of amenities, including dining options, a spa, fitness center, and pools.
