Seven Falls, nestled in South Cheyenne Cañon near Colorado Springs, Colorado, is a breathtaking series of seven cascading waterfalls that drop a total of 181 feet. Forged by South Cheyenne Creek, the falls have been a privately-owned tourist attraction since the early 1880s. The canyon itself is framed by the towering Pillars of Hercules, twin rock formations that rise dramatically.Originally homesteaded by Nathaniel Colby in 1872, the land was later purchased by James Hull, who recognized its potential as a scenic destination. Hull constructed a road and a stairway to allow visitors to experience the falls up close. Over the years, various owners have added to the attraction, including the Hill family who installed lights for nighttime viewing and built an elevator to the Eagle's Nest observation platform. In 2014, The Broadmoor resort acquired Seven Falls and reopened it in 2015 after extensive renovations.Today, visitors can explore the falls via a 224-step staircase that climbs alongside the cascading water or opt for a ride in the mountain elevator to the Eagle's Nest. Above the falls, hiking trails lead to Midnight Falls and Inspiration Point, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Restaurant 1858, located at the base of the falls, provides a dining experience inspired by Colorado's Gold Rush era.
