Confluence Park, a 265-acre recreational paradise in Delta, Colorado, thrives where the Gunnison and Uncompahgre Rivers converge. Once a former city dump and sugar refinery, it was transformed in 1992 into a beautiful space for all to enjoy. The park is centered around the 60-acre Confluence Lake, offering opportunities for non-motorized boating and fishing. Anglers can enjoy a handicap-accessible fishing dike stocked with trout. Five miles of trails wind through the park, perfect for hiking and biking, with chances to spot various bird species and mammals like muskrats and beavers. Confluence Park provides many amenities, including picnic sites, a gazebo, fire pits, a skate park, a swimming beach (open in the summer), and a sand volleyball court. It also features a disc golf course, BMX/mountain bike paths, and a horse county arena. The park is dog-friendly, with two spacious dog parks. Adding to the park's appeal is the Fort Uncompahgre Living History Museum, located at the entrance. This reconstruction of an 1828 fur trading post offers a glimpse into the region's past. The park also contains remnants of the old sugar refinery, with three giant white cement towers still standing.

From downtown Delta, Confluence Park is easily accessible by foot. Head north on CO-50/Main St, then turn west onto Gunnison River Drive. The park entrance will be on your right. The walk is approximately 1 mile and should take about 20 minutes.

Confluence Park is a stop on the Bustang Outrider bus route. Check the Bustang schedule for arrival and departure times. From the bus stop, the park's amenities are within easy walking distance. A one-way fare on the Bustang varies depending on the distance traveled.

From CO-50, turn west onto Gunnison River Drive. Follow the road to the park entrance. Parking is available in gravel parking areas within the park. Parking is free. During special events, a shuttle service may operate from Confluence Park to other locations, such as the Cedaredge Applefest.
