Driving
The most common access point is from Leadville, CO. From US Highway 24 south of Leadville, turn west onto Colorado 300. Drive 0.7 miles and turn left onto County Road 11, continuing for 1.2 miles before turning right onto Halfmoon Creek Road (still County Road 11). Follow Halfmoon Creek Road for approximately 5.3 miles to reach the Mount Massive Trailhead parking area on the right. This road is generally accessible to most vehicles, but the last section is a dirt road. Parking is free at the trailhead. Limited dispersed camping is available along Halfmoon Creek Road.
