Getting There

  • Driving

    From Estes Park, head west on US-34 for approximately 5 miles. The Fall River Visitor Center will be on your right, just before the Fall River Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Parking is available at the visitor center. Be aware that parking can be limited during peak season.

  • Public Transport

    During the summer, take the free Estes Park Shuttle's Gold Route (Fall River Road) to the Fall River Visitor Center. The shuttle stops at lodging along Fall River Road and connects with other shuttle routes at the Estes Park Visitor Center. Check the shuttle schedule for times and availability. There is no cost for the shuttle.

Located on US Highway 34, five miles west of Estes Park, the Fall River Visitor Center serves as the northeast gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. Completed in 2000 with support from the Rocky Mountain Conservancy, the center offers a wealth of information and exhibits to enhance your park experience. Inside, you'll find exhibits focusing on wildlife survival and management, as well as life-size bronze animal sculptures. Rangers are available to provide guidance, answer questions, and offer insights into park activities. A children's discovery room allows kids to engage with the park's themes through interactive displays and dress-up opportunities. The adjacent Gateway Store complex provides a restaurant, gift shop, and grocery store. The visitor center is open daily from late spring through mid-fall, and on weekends during the winter. It is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. All facilities are accessible, including parking with curb cuts, and accessible restrooms are available.
