Driving
From Estes Park, drive west on Highway 36 towards Rocky Mountain National Park. Enter the park and continue for approximately 0.7 miles to the turnoff for Upper Beaver Meadows. Turn left onto Beaver Meadows Road and follow it for 1.4 miles to the trailhead parking area. Note that a park entrance pass is required. A 7-day vehicle pass costs $35. Additionally, a timed entry permit may be required during peak season, costing $2.
Walking
From the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center, walk west on Trail Ridge Road for approximately 1 mile to a 180-degree bend in the road. Turn left onto the Beaver Meadow access road and follow it 1.5 miles to the Upper Beaver Meadows Trailhead. Remember that you will need to pay the park entrance fee to access this area. A 7-day per person entrance pass costs $20.
