Driving
To reach Wild Basin from Estes Park, head south on CO-7 for approximately 19 miles. The Wild Basin entrance is on the left, just before reaching Allenspark. After passing the entrance station, continue for a couple of miles on the paved and unpaved road to the trailhead. Be aware that the final stretch is a narrow, gravel road. Parking at the trailhead is limited and fills up quickly, especially during peak season. Consider arriving early or carpooling. A 7-day vehicle pass to enter Rocky Mountain National Park costs $35.
Public Transport
While there isn't direct public transportation to the Wild Basin Trailhead, you can take the Bustang bus from Denver to the Rocky Mountain National Park Park & Ride in Estes Park. From there, you would need to arrange a taxi or rideshare to the Wild Basin Entrance, which is about a 30-minute drive south of Estes Park. The Bustang fare from Denver to Estes Park ranges from $11 to $17. A taxi or rideshare from Estes Park to Wild Basin could cost approximately $40-$60.
