Hiking
From the center of Estes Park, head east on Elkhorn Avenue towards the intersection with Moraine Avenue. Turn left onto Moraine Avenue and continue until you reach the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Once inside, follow the signs to the Bear Lake Trailhead, which is a popular starting point for hikes up to Flagstaff Mountain. The trail is well-marked, and you can enjoy scenic views along the way.
Biking
Rent a bike from one of the local shops in Estes Park. Start from the downtown area and bike east along the scenic route on Moraine Avenue, towards Rocky Mountain National Park. Upon entering the park, follow the designated bike paths leading to the Bear Lake area. Once you arrive at Bear Lake, you can park your bike and start hiking up the trails that lead to Flagstaff Mountain.
Public Transportation
Check the local shuttle services that run from Estes Park to Rocky Mountain National Park. Board the shuttle at one of the designated stops in Estes Park, and request to be dropped off at Bear Lake. From Bear Lake, follow the trails that lead you up to Flagstaff Mountain. Be sure to check the shuttle schedule for return trips.
Walking
If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk from downtown Estes Park to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. Start on Elkhorn Avenue heading east, then turn left onto Moraine Avenue. It is about a 1.5-mile walk to the park entrance. Once inside, you can walk to Bear Lake Trailhead and begin your hike to Flagstaff Mountain.
