    The Boulder Public Library is located downtown and easily accessible on foot from most central locations. From the Pearl Street Mall, walk south on Broadway to Arapahoe Avenue, then turn east. The library is a few blocks down on your right. No costs involved.

    If driving, parking is available in the library parking lot, with free parking on Saturdays. During the week, parking is free after 7 p.m. Monday to Friday. There are also several parking garages nearby, including the 10th & Walnut Parking Garage and the RTD Station Parking Garage. Parking fees in these garages typically range from $3 on Wednesdays after 3 p.m..

Originally housed in a Carnegie library built in 1906, the library moved to its present location in 1961. The current building, a two-story structure, provides 23,800 square feet of space for sculpture galleries, reading rooms, gathering spaces, video viewing rooms, and music listening rooms.Over the years, the Boulder Public Library has adapted to the evolving needs of the community. In 2014, major renovations were completed to expand and repair the main branch, addressing aging infrastructure and creating more functional spaces. In November 2022, the Boulder Public Library District was formed, decoupling the library from the municipality of Boulder and establishing a dedicated funding source through a property tax mill levy.The library offers a wide array of resources and services, including books, e-books, audiobooks, DVDs, and online databases. It also hosts numerous programs and events for all ages, such as storytimes, workshops, lectures, and film screenings. The library provides access to computers, Wi-Fi, and printing services, and it also offers meeting rooms for community groups and individuals.
